It's National Battery Day! Batteries are almost used at every workplace, bog or small. If your workplace happens to use large-scale batteries, one should always think about safety first.

Maintenance of batteries are critical in order to prolong battery life. Here are s few tips when handling your batteries for their regular maintenance:
Create an area for battery maintenance. Do you need to use protective wear, tools, and other materials to maintain your workplace batteries? Make sure to have a place to keep all of your battery maintenance items. This keeps the items out of other's way and creates an easily accessible place to get to what you need.
Keep batteries in an area that is cool and ventilated. Batteries thrive in areas that are lower in temperature. If you need storage for large scale batteries, make sure to choose a place that is away from open flames and high temperatures. Make sure to make a flammable sign near your battery storage.
Keep a neutralizing solution close by. A baking soda and water solution neutralizes the sulfuric acid in the battery’s electrolyte. All that is needed is a small jar to keep the items close by when needed, If some electrolyte is accidentally spilled, you can immediately use the solution to clean the area, then rinse with water.
Basic Battery Maintenance
Batteries for your cleaning supplies and equipment can be an expensive investment if they are not cared for properly. Here are WD's quick tips in maintaining the longevity of your batteries:
Check your battery power monthly if possible. If the battery is not used often, check the batteries' power level every 4-6 weeks. To maintain optimal battery life, the battery should always be 70% charged or above.
Charge the battery after every use. Be sure to charge the battery after each use. Follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions about how to charge the battery. Do not charge a battery near a heater or objects that distribute heat.
